Sunrise
The Sunrise Room at Little Treasures Day Nursery & Preschool represents our commitment to inclusivity, serving as a specialist support area for children with special educational needs (SEN) and disabilities. With a maximum of 9 children, this room enables our dedicated staff to focus closely on each child's individual needs, providing personalised and targeted support.
As well as our on-site team, Sunrise work closely with outside professionals including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists to help support each child’s individual needs and help them reach their full potential.
The spacious environment includes a large play area, quiet reading corner, a roleplay area, and a sensory dark den to allow children the opportunity to self-regulate.
Activities follow a planned curriculum to meet the developmental milestones of the Early Years Foundation Stages (EYFS). Although these activities are planned in advance, this is subject to change as we follow the child led play guidance. This means that the children are free to lead their own play. Each activity is adapted to meet the needs and ability of each individual child and supported or extended accordingly. We also use the ‘In The Moment Planning’ method allowing the children to explore their imagination and boost their self-confidence by having their ideas and interests listened to and included in our play.
